PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To finely display an expected image even though different potentials are supplied to mutually adjacent pixel electrodes. SOLUTION: An electrooptical device has a plurality of pixel electrodes 15 each of which is formed with an interval for every unit region U that divides the arranged plane with a same shape and without gaps and an electrooptical layer 50 which opposes with each of the pixel electrodes 15. In the electrooptical layer 50, the region corresponding to the pixel electrode 15 to which an electric potential VH is applied displays black color and the region corresponding to the pixel electrode 15 to which an electric potential VL is applied displays white color. An interval d of each pixel electrode 15 is selected so that the boundary line between the region, which becomes black color by the application of the potential VH to one pixel electrode 15, and the region, which becomes white color by the application of the potential VL to the adjacent other pixel electrode 15, approximately matches the boundary line between the unit region U in which one pixel electrode 15 is formed and the unit region U in which other pixel electrode 15 is formed.
