PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve assembling workability of a battery, attain higher capacity of battery elements, and further, to prevent a short circuit of electrodes themselves, in a battery equipped with a sealing plate terminal electrically jointed to a first electrode tab. SOLUTION: The battery 10 is provided with battery elements 13 from which a first electrode tab 11 and a second electrode tab 12 are drawn out, a can case 14 housing the battery elements 13, a sealing plate 15 sealing an opening part 14a of the can case 14, and a sealing plate terminal fitted to the sealing plate 15 through insulating members 16 and electrically jointed to the first electrode tab 11. The sealing plate terminal 17 is provided with a through-hole 17a communicated with an inside and an outside of the battery, the first electrode tab 11 is penetrated through the through-hole 17a without bending, and jointed to the sealing plate terminal 17 outside the battery.
