PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent oil, duct and the like in the air from intruding into an input port or an operation part and to prevent a sales register from being easily identified as a sales register in nonuse, in a sales register for a shop. SOLUTION: The input port for inputting proceeds and the operation part for executing an input operation are formed on the upper surface and the front surface of a machine body 11 of this sales register for a shop. The upper surface through the front surface of the machine body 11 are covered with a cover body 29. The cover body 29 can be opened by being rotated by using the rear part side of the upper surface of the machine body 11 as a rotation axis, and is moved to a closed state for covering the upper surface through the front surface of the machine body 11 and an opened state for exposing them. By the cover body 29, oil, dust and the like in the air are prevented from intruding into or adhering to the input port or the operation part, and the sales register for a shop is prevented from being easily identified as a sales register.
