PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for caulking a rivet, by which method, the rivet can be exactly caulked and the generation of metallic powder, etc. can be prevented as much as possible. SOLUTION: The method for caulking the rivet comprises a step of mounting workpiece plates on a through-die having a through-hole thereon, a step of driving a rivet 4 held by a stem 5 into the workpiece plates, a step of temporarily caulking the rivet by squeezing the rivet, and a step of conclusively caulking the rivet after the temporary caulking step. In the conclusive caulking step, the rivet is caulked such that a ring shape portion produced by squeezing the rivet is covered by an outer caulked portion. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
