The proposed method for determining the vertical at a movable object implies using a liquid level with an air bubble and a gyroscopic vertical transducer. The method is distinctive by determining, when the object moves, the variation of the position of the air bubble of the level by an electron-optical device, measuring the angular velocity of the detecting element of the gyroscopic transducer relative to the vertical in two mutually perpendicular planes, and determining the position of the object relative to the vertical by the position of the air bubble of the level, with consideration for the characteristic that defines the angular velocity of the detecting element of the gyroscopic transducer as a function of the position of the air bubble. The data on the displacement of the air bubble of the level that are obtained in determining the position of the object relative to the vertical are used to correct the deviation of the detecting element of the gyroscopic transducer.
