LATENT CATALYST AND THERMOSETTING RESIN COMPOSITION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a latent catalyst stable at a lower temperature than the molding temperature without exhibiting catalyst actions and extremely accelerating the curing rate during molding of a thermosetting resin and to provide a thermosetting resin composition having the latent catalyst. SOLUTION: A solution is achieved by the latent catalyst prepared by holding an acidic compound promoting the curing of a thermosetting compound on a porous substrate. The acidic compound is a compound releasing an acidic substance by heating. The porous substrate is porous ceramics. The thermosetting resin composition comprises a phenol resin and the latent catalyst. The thermosetting resin composition contains a polyacetal resin. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
