The clamping ring (17) has a female thread and screws onto a split male thread (16) on the clamp. The transverse rod (12) may be introduced into a clamping region (11b) via gaps (11) between the two threaded halves (14) of the clamp. When the ring is screwed into place it draws the two halves together. The two halves are joined at a ring at the bottom (6), which is shaped to grip the round head (3) of the screw (1). The screw may be set at a variety of different angles.
