PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical component which can be easily manufactured and whose cost can be reduced, and to provide a manufacturing method of the optical component. SOLUTION: The optical component (10) has a function of connecting an optical path (30) to a plurality of optical elements (20). The optical component (10) comprises a light transmission base material (11) and a diffraction optical element (12) which is formed between one side surface of the base material for each of the optical elements (20) to be located thereon and the other side surface for the optical path to be located thereon and inside the base material and has a function of guiding light emitted from the optical path into the base material to either of a plurality of the optical elements or guiding light emitted from the optical element into the base material to the optical path. Therein, the position on one side surface of the base material for each of the optical elements to be located is set to be either of rotation symmetrical positions nearly around the connection point (34).
