<p>PURPOSE:To protect data against retrieval except by privileged persons and to the protection to be reset by adding retrieving person identifying information to individual data in a data group, and storing characters whose masking is specified and displaying them again by an indication. CONSTITUTION:A retrieving person sends a request to display various data from a terminal device 101 for data display to a storage device 103 through a central processor 102. The processor 102 reads requested data out of the device 103 and displays the requested data on the device 101. At this time, masking information is added to a data group which should not be shown except to the privileged persons among stored data groups in the device 103 by using a man-machine function provided to the device 101. Further, information on the masked data group is stored in a storage device 104. When the privileged person specifies the resetting of the masking state of the data group, the data group which is masked is displayed on the screen. Thus, information is protected against retrieval except by the privileged persons and the protection can be reset.</p> |
