The headrest (13) has head support tubes (9,10). The tubes are attached directly or indirectly on eccentric shaft (4) and return stop or recoil brake in form of spring-loaded pneumatic damper, friction pairing. The tubes are attached in such a way that after intake of crash position of the headrest and suspension of pressure load of the elastic thrust plate, headrest tilting is temporally retardable. The headrest has, apart from return stop or recoil brake in the form of spring loaded tooth pairing (17), a pneumatic damping device (16) and a friction pairing or a similar device. The arrangement is such that through these, after taking in the crash position of the headrest and after neutralization of compression load in the frame (3) of backrest, which is integrated with elastic pressure bar, the backswing of the headrest is temporally retardable in normal position.
