PURPOSE:To provide a powder coating which permits ready dispersion of a pigment, enabling washing of various machines required for color change to be minimized, and which comprises a blend of a granular resin and a pigment encapsulated in the surface portion of the resin granules. CONSTITUTION:A granular resin (e.g., bisphenol-type epoxy resin) having an average grain diameter of 5-100mum is premixed with a pigment (e.g., Hansa yellow) or a pigment and particulates (e.g., BaSO4), followed by mixing under mechanical strain force by means of an atomizer, a hybridizer, etc., until the average grain diameter reaches 5-120mum. Thus, at least one portion of the pigment or the pigment and particulates is encapsulated in the surface portion of the resin granules.
