PURPOSE:To prevent reliably the contamination of fluorescent film due to washing liquid by shielding the fluorescent film from the outside of a panel with a masking cover. CONSTITUTION:A masking cover 17 is supported on stud pins 18 so as to shield the fluorescent film 5 from the outside of a panel 1. The sealing surface 1a of the panel 1 is washed with an acid cleaning liquid 12 while being carried on a cleaning and conveying roller 16 faced downward. Here, because the inner space of the panel 1 is shielded perfectly with the masking cover 17, evaporated gas of the cleaning liquid 12 or a drop of the cleaning liquid 12 sprung up by the roller 16 or the like cannot enter into the inner space of the panel. Thereby the contamination of the fluorescent film 5 due to the cleaning liquid 12 can be prevented reliably.
