<p>PROCESS FOR PRODUCING N-ACYL-HYDROXY AND N-ACYL-ACYLOXY AROMATIC AMINES This invention relates to a process for producing N-acyl-hydroxy aromat-ic amines, such as N-acetyl-para-aminophenol (APAP), and N-acyl-acyloxy aromatic amines, such as 4-acetoxyacetanilide (AAA), from hydroxy aromatic ketones, such as 4-hydroxyacetophenone. Preferably the hydroxy aromatic ketones are produced from an aromatic ester, such as phenyl acetate, or from a phenolic compound, such as phenol, and an acylating agent, such as acetic acid.</p> |
