A composition for use in the treatment of abnormal hair conditions containing, as an effective ingrldient, a product obtained by contacting at least one member selected from vegetable and animal fats and oils with a microorgainsm belonging to staphylococcus capitis. The compsn. has an excellent hair-growing effect because it inhibits 5 alpha-testosterone reductase.
