<p>PURPOSE: To easily produce differently sized sheets by transversely cutting a web by means of a first and a second cutting head and by removing the final piece by means of nip rollers. CONSTITUTION: A continuous web 10 passes via a supply part 12 between the knife cylinder 18 of a first cutting head 17 and a corresponding anvil cylinder 19. Selecting the length of the web against respective blades, the blades A-F of the cylinder 18, removes the other blades. The web 10 passes the head 17, being held by means of a sheet carry part 20 before cutting. Nip rollers 30, 31 are engaged with the web 10 immediately before the cutting operation of the cylinder 18. Thus, after cutting, the rollers 30, 31 positively control the cut web 10a. The web 10a is supplied to a second cutting head 39. A rubber pad 42 between the blades 37 of a knife cylinder 40 grasps the web 10a between the rubber pad 42 and an anvil cylinder 41. A pin 43 pierces web chips 51-54 for cutting. The final piece 10b is removed from nip rollers 44, 46.</p> |
