PURPOSE:To dispense with an image memory large in capacity by directly converting vector image data to runlength image data with a first conversion means without performing intermediate processing to convert it to a bit map image. CONSTITUTION:The vector image data stored in a vector storage means 2 is converted to runlength data including information with respect to the line number, the start point, and the end point of runlength comprising a vector with the first conversion means, and also, the runlength data is arranged under the control of a control means 5, and is stored in a runlength storage means 6 in a prescribed format, and is converted to a video signal with a second conversion means 7. In other words, the vector image data can be directly converted to the runlength image data, which eliminates the intermediate processing to convert it to the bit map image. In such a way, it is possible to dispense with the storage of the information of each picture element to form the bit map image and the image memory large in capacity. |
