[Class 3 (ii)] [Also in Group X] A road kerb b is fitted with light-reflecting elements a in the form of glazed tiles, the elements being embedded in the kerb when the latter is moulded and being arranged to lie flush with a kerb face and spaced from the longitudinal edges of the kerb. The reflecting element shown is fitted to the sloping face of the kerb and consists of a strip comprising a number of glazed tiles arranged end to end. In modifications, a kerb is fitted with two or more reflecting strips each consisting of one or more tiles and such strips may be of rectangular or dovetail cross-section. The exposed face of the strip may be flat, concave or convex. Kerbs of rectangular cross-section may have the strips fitted to their horizontal vertical, or both horizontal and vertical faces. The reflecting elements may be secured to the reinforcement of the kerb when such is provided.</p> |
