PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a game machine capable of presenting the content of a display game in new and various ways, capable of letting a player further visually enjoy the game, and capable of enhancing the amusement of the game on the whole. SOLUTION: The game machine includes an item providing means for providing the player with one of a plurality of kinds of items at prescribed timing in the play; an item using means for re-varying any one of temporarily stopped/displayed identification information symbols constituting a disadvantageous display mode by using the item previously obtained by the player when the display mode disadvantageous to the player is extracted during the display game; and a display mode transfer means for transferring the mode from the disadvantageous display mode to a display mode advantageous to the player as the result of the re-variation if the used item satisfies a specific condition for the re-varied identification information symbol.
