<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital broadcast receiver, a digital broadcast recording/reproducing apparatus, a program receiving method, and a recorded data reproducing method for returning to any arbitrary program or data even when a user does not remember a program name or a data name of a program or recorded data browsed before. <P>SOLUTION: When an instruction signal for returning to a program browsed before for display is received from an input section 9, a control section 10 controls a retrieval section 13 to retrieve history data in a history information storage section 12. The control section 10, that obtains a retrieval result from the retrieval section 13, extracts channel information included in the retrieval result and outputs it to a channel selection section 11.
