PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reinforced fiber substrate that does not cause material defects such as wrinkles, bending etc., of reinforcing fiber in the case of producing preforms such as beam members etc., having long length and complicated shapes by continuous and automatic molding, has excellent flexibility, process passage and handleability, a preform and a composite material using the same and a manufacturing method thereof. SOLUTION: The long-length reinforced fiber substrate is obtained by laminating at least two sheets of unidirectional base materials having shapes retained by restricting a plurality of reinforced fiber yarns arranged in parallel in one direction by auxiliary yarns extended so as to cross the reinforced fiber yarns in which end parts at least in the length direction of the reinforced fiber substrate are sewed and when the thickness of the sewed part is t1 and the thickness of the preform when the reinforced fiber substrate is compressed is t2, the sewing is carried out so that the thicknesses t1 and t2 satisfy formula: 1.27×t2≤t1≤1.90×t2.
