PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an MRI capable of measuring magnetic field distortion, including cross terms, which is generated by eddy current arising by a gradient magnetic field. SOLUTION: An eddy current magnetic field measuring means measures not only an eddy current magnetic field arising in the direction where the gradient magnetic field is applied but also at least one eddy magnetic field arising in the two directions orthogonal to the application direction, among a first, second, and third directions. For example, after a test gradient magnetic field is applied to an object in the prescribed direction among the first, second, and third directions, a nuclear magnetic resonance signal is acquired to reconfigure a phase image showing a phase change arising in the object by the test gradient magnetic field. By acquiring phase change amounts in the first, second, and third directions on the phase image, respectively, the eddy current magnetic field is measured. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
