PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a blade driving apparatus for a camera, which has two blades rotated simultaneously in opposite directions by a driving pin engaging with both slots and allows at least one blade to rotate at a speed higher than that of the conventional art. SOLUTION: Shutter blades 3 and 4 are rotatably attached to blade attaching shafts 1c and 1d of a bottom board 1. A driving pin 5c of a rotor 5 is engaged with the slots 3a and 4a of the shutter blades 3 and 4. When the rotor 5 rotates, the shutter blades 3 and 4 are rotated simultaneously in the opposite directions. The shutter blade 4 has a circular-arc shaped escape hole 4c centering the blade attaching shaft 1d, and does not interfere with the other blade attaching shaft 1c. Further, one end of the length direction of the slot 4a is connected to substantially the center of the length direction of the escape hole 4c, so that the interval between the driving pin 5c and the blade attaching shaft 1c becomes shorter and the shutter blade 3 can rotate faster than in the conventional art.
