PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize the printing of high quality by raising the beginning print density at starting the printing and not making thin white lines (not printed lines) in the main scan direction illegible when performing a high speed printing in a thermal printer. SOLUTION: The thermal printer includes a receiving means for receiving printing data transmitted from a high-order apparatus, an accumulation means for accumulating the printing data, a history data formation means which determines a pattern for adding an applying energy based on the printing data accumulated in the accumulation means, and a thermal head which makes a printout according to the pattern for adding the applying energy in the history data formation means. In the pattern determination for adding the applying energy by the history data formation means, the pattern for adding the applying energy corresponding to the present printout is determined based on the past and coming printing data.
