The head (1) has a cutter carrier (3) comprising a circular blade (5). The blade is designed as one-piece with the cutter carrier. The carrier and the blade are formed from tungsten carbide or high speed steel (HSS). The cutter carrier is formed like sleeve or in ring-shape, where the blade projects in axial direction of a front side of the cutter carrier. Another cutter carrier is formed in disk-shape, and another blade projects in radial direction of the latter carrier. The blades are arranged in the cutter carriers. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a cutter head.
