PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel deterioration detector of an internal combustion engine for the purpose of precisely detecting the deterioration of biofuel. SOLUTION: A light transmittance sensor 22 for detecting the light transmittance of biofuel is provided to a fuel tank 12 that stores the biofuel supplied to the internal combustion engine 10. An ECU 14 periodically acquires the light transmittance detected by the light transmittance sensor 22 to calculate the change quantity to the previously acquired value. Further, a deterioration index value showing the deterioration degree of the biofuel is calculated by integrating the change quantity. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
