PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a file transfer system using a communication infrastructure applying a signaling protocol for simultaneously executing the transfer of files from a plurality of terminals to specific terminals at a high speed. SOLUTION: When receiving connection request information between a transfer request terminal and a transfer response terminal, transmitted in accordance with the signaling protocol, from the transfer requesting terminal, a mediating server transfers the connection request information to the transfer response terminal independently of whether a session is established or not between the other transfer request terminal and the transfer response terminal. When the session is already established and its connection number is smaller than a maximum connection number, the transfer response terminal transmits the connection response information showing a connection permitting response, including position information showing the transfer destination of files, via the mediating server to the transfer request terminal. The transfer request terminal transmits the files to the transfer destination shown by the position information which the connection response information includes, in accordance with a data transfer protocol.
