PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance crash protection performance of an occupant by maintaining a pivot position of a seat to a predetermined position without causing complication of a structure and getting larger of the device. SOLUTION: When front surface collision of a vehicle is previously detected by an obstacle sensor, a clearance of the occupant 11 and a steering wheel 22 is enlarged by backwardly inclining the seat 1 and energy absorption stroke at collision is increased. A movable base 13 fixed with the seat 1 is rotatably supported by a seesaw hinge 17 at a central part, and both front and rear ends are supported on a front part bracket 21 and a rear part bracket 23 on a vehicle body floor 9 through a front part link mechanism 25 and a rear part link mechanism 27 and are made swingable in a longitudinal direction. A hypo-cycloid mechanism is used as a motive power transmission drive mechanism for pivoting the movable base 13 with the seat 1. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
