Provided are method and system for mobile payment. The mobile payment method includes: receiving, by an informing server, member information including personal information and approving member registration; transferring, by the informing server, the approval of member registration and the member information to a billing server of a billing agency; receiving, by the informing server, a billing message to be sent to the member from the billing server; transmitting, by the informing server, an informing message having payment information and payment method information to a portable terminal of the member; creating, by the portable terminal of the member, a payment message having a payment packet using the transmitted informing message; and transmitting, by the portable terminal of the member, the created payment message. Accordingly, payment details such as public imposts are informed through the mobile terminal, and payment can be easily made using the mobile terminal.
