A backlight assembly is provided to have a plurality of LGP(Light Guide Plate)s and a light source arranged between LGPs, thereby improving brightness uniformity and providing a slimmer high brightness backlight assembly. The second LGP(400) is separated from the first LGP(300). A light source(500) is interposed between the first LGP and the second LGP. The first LGP has the first side(310). The second LGP has the second side(410) facing the first side. The light source has an emitting face where light is emitted and a non-emitting face where light is not emitted. The emitting face emits light. The non-emitting face does not emit light. The non-emitting face is upward. The light source comprises the first light source(510) and the second light source(520). The emitting face of the first light source faces the first side. The emitting face of the second light source faces the second side. The first light sources are arranged in a row. The second light sources are arranged in a row. |
