FIELD: chemistry. ^ SUBSTANCE: inventions refer to high-sorptive powder alloys reversibly absorbing hydrogen in large volume. According to the first and second versions, hydrogen-sorbing Ni5La alloy combination is made by thermal processing of initial nickel and lanthanum compounds at 1000-1200C with reducing calcium hydride added. According to the first version, initial nickel compounds in nickel equivalent are taken in amount exceeding its stoichiometric ratio as a part of alloy combination by 0.3-4.0%. Intermediate product resulted from thermal processing is chipped with following hydrometallurgical processing thus separating calcium oxide and free nickel from alloy combination. Powder alloy is dried up and dispersed. According to the second version, initial nickel compounds in nickel equivalent and substituting elements are taken in amount exceeding total stoichiometric ratio of nickel or substituting elements as a part of alloy combination by 0.3-4.0%. Intermediate product resulted from thermal processing is chipped with following hydrometallurgical processing thus separating calcium oxide from alloy combination. Powder alloy is dried up and dispersed. ^ EFFECT: inventions allow for making uniform and high-sorptive alloy containing Ni5La master phase in amount almost 100%. ^ 11 cl, 8 ex
