<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bookbinding device which need not measure a bundle thickness by a user in advance when setting jogged middle papers on a tray and has no risk of fingers being bitten. <P>SOLUTION: The bookbinding device comprises a grip conveying means for gripping a middle paper tray, a cover sheet tray, and sheet bundles set in a middle paper tray and conveying them along a binding processing path, a cover sheet conveying means for conveying the cover sheets set in the cover sheet tray to a binding position and setting the same, an adhesive applying means for applying an adhesive to the back portion end faces of the middle papers, a cover sheet binding means for binding the middle papers and the cover sheets, and a control means for carrying out case work of the middle papers with the cover sheets. The first bundle thickness detecting means for detecting the bundle thickness of the sheet bundles mounted is arranged on the middle paper tray and the second bundle thickness detecting means for detecting the bundle thickness of the gripped middle papers is arranged in the grip conveying means. Further, the control means is constituted so as to inhibit the action for conveying out the middle papers from the middle paper tray by the grip conveying means when the bundle thickness of the sheets detected by the first bundle thickness means is the predetermined thickness or more. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
