PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To coat uniformly without occurrence of unevenness, e.g. longitudinal streaks, on a coated surface immediately after coating. SOLUTION: A bar coater has a bar 20 applying a coating to a running web 18, a bar receiving member 22 arranged below the bar 20 so as to support the bar 20 in a freely rotatable way and an upstream-side gate member 28 and a downstream-side gate member 30 which are arranged respectively in the upstream and the downstream of the web in the running direction through the bar receiving member 22 and form each slot 34 for supply of the coating between the bar receiving member 22 and the gate members. The inclination angleαof the slide surface 30A of the downstream-side gate member 30 opposite to the web 18 is 5-30°. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
