PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a coated article having a coating film without coating failure such as wrinkles, unevenness, and the like, and to provide a coating apparatus. SOLUTION: The method for producing a coated article by continuously applying a coating solution to a support is characterized in that a coating film is formed by using a coating solution containing at least 2.5 wt.% or more of particles, by supplying the coating solution to a die head having a solution supply port formed in the side face part of a manifold for supplying the coating solution to the manifold and a solution discharge port formed in a side face part of the manifold on the opposite to the side where the solution supply port is formed for discharging the coating solution supplied to the manifold at a flow rate Q<SB>1</SB>in the manifold with the cross section surface area S through the solution supply port of the die head; jetting the coating solution at a flow rate Q<SB>2</SB>out of lip tip end, and by discharging the coating solution at a flow rate of Q<SB>1</SB>-Q<SB>2</SB>while satisfying the expression (1) (Q<SB>1</SB>-Q<SB>2</SB>)/S≥3.0 (mm/sec) out of the solution discharge port.
