A bad shape detecting apparatus of a strip is provided to prevent poor quality and scrap generation of product and reduce cost by preventing deformation due to a bad shape of an edge part. A bad shape detecting apparatus of a strip comprises: an upper roller(20) guiding the transfer of a strip in the upper part of the strip(1); a lower roller(30) guiding the transfer of the strip in the lower part of the strip with the upper roller; and a driving unit(40) supporting the upper roller and the lower roller. The lower roller is equipped with a concavo-convex part(37) forming traverse direction defect of a fixed shape in a traverse direction of the strip in the area in which a form defect part(3) of the strip is generated. The driving unit supports the upper roller and the lower roller and detects the form defect of the strip.
