[Class 142 (iv)] A basic fabric, Fig. 5, knitted with the same sequence of colours as the finished article, e.g., a carpet, furnishing fabric &c. is cut up into strips which curl up and constitute finished chenille threads as shown in Fig. 7, and these threads 27 are bound by a warp thread group 28 on to a foundation comprising also filler warps 29 and lower weft-threads 30.
