POROUS CERAMIC BY POLYMER BLEND AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for safely and inexpensively producing porous ceramics by a simple apparatus and porous ceramics produced by the method and having excellent properties.

SOLUTION: A polymer blend is prepared by blending a polymer material such as silicone oil with Si-O-Si bonds as a main chain in an excessive amiount to its compatible limit with precursor polymer materials for SiC ceramic. The porous ceramic is produced by using the polymer blend as the starting material and controlling the diameter of holes by the blending ratio, infisibilization conditions and baking conditions. In particular, the method of production is characterized in forming the porous composition by blending multiple species of precursor polymer materials enabling to form the ceramic.
