PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a retractable outer mirror with high rigidity, reducing a cost of a stopper mechanism, while preventing increase in size and weight. SOLUTION: This retractable outer mirror 1 is equipped with: a mirror base 10 projecting from a side surface of a vehicle body toward the side; a mirror assembly 30 rotatably mounted in the mirror base 10; and the stopper mechanism 2 for stopping the mirror assembly 30 in a prescribed position. The stopper mechanism 2 comprises: base side engaging surfaces 51a and 51b formed in the mirror base 10; and body side engaging surfaces 53a and 53b formed in the mirror assembly 30 to abut on the base side engaging surfaces 51a and 51b in surfaces at prescribed positions. The base side engaging surfaces 51a and 51b and the body side engaging surfaces 53a and 53b are formed so that an erection angleθin relation to a rotating direction D of the mirror assembly 30 may be an acute one.
