PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester multifilament having excellent stretch-back property, high hollowness, high bulkiness and lightweight property and giving a fabric having soft feeling. SOLUTION: The modified cross-section hollow polyester multifilament is a polyester multifilament comprising two kinds of polyesters having different thermal shrinking ratios, and composed of 20 or more single fibers having a hollow square cross-section perpendicular to a fiber axis of the single fiber, and having eight fins radially projecting from an outer surface of the core relative to the center of the core and extending along the longitudinal direction of the core.
