PURPOSE: An organic electroluminescent display device and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to improve the wet-proof property of an organic electroluminescent display device by forming a getter layer which covers the upper side and lateral side of a device array. CONSTITUTION: An element array(ELa) is formed on an element substrate(20u). The element array comprises a plurality of unit organic electroluminescent devices(23). An encapsulating substrate(10u) is located on the element substrate. A getter layer(G) is formed between the element substrate and the encapsulating substrate. A sealant(30) is spread on the peripheral area of the element array.
