A test strip to assist in determining the concentration of an analyte in a fluid sample comprises a base (18), and least one tab (82). The base includes a capillary channel (16) and a test element (18). The capillary channel is in fluid communication with the test element. The test elements is adapted to receive the fluid sample. The at least one tab is removably attached to the base and includes a lip (88) that extends from the base. The lip is adapted to allow the one tab to be separated such that the separation from the base exposes the inlet (24) to the capillary channel. |
