<p>The machine has a holding device (3) for holding a harvested material i.e. crop. A collecting conveyor (10) is designed as a lifting and lowering pick-up device (4) with a spiked roller (12). The conveyor and a feeding conveyor (11) are controlled independent of each other by a control device (9) such that ratio of driving speeds of the conveyors is varied by the control device on the basis of the variations in operating and/or processing parameters. A driving speed reference signal is variably set by the control device depending on the drive moment of the collecting conveyor.</p>
