PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical connector, simply detaching a ferrule from a housing by himself/herself alone. SOLUTION: A support member 5, which is removably mounted to the housing 3 in the state of supporting the ferrule 7, includes: a support member body 51 stored in the housing 3; and an operating part 52 provided on the support member body 51 for temporarily releasing the engagement of a projection 513 formed on the support member body 51 with a through-hole 322 formed in the housing 3.
