SURGICAL HELMET AND COVER ASSEMBLY, METHODS OF MAKING AND USING THE SAME

A surgical helmet cover assembly 100 comprises a hood sized to extend over a surgical helmet, the hood comprising a first hood material 102 having a face shield aperture 103, air inlet 104, air outlet 105 and a hood opening 136 all of which are completely surrounded by the first hood material 102, a transparent face shield 106 and additional pieces of hood material positioned over the air inlet 104 and air outlet 105. The hood opening 136 is sized so that the hood can be positioned over and onto a surgical helmet. The transparent face shield 106 is positioned over the face shield aperture 103 and bonded to the first hood material 102 along an outer periphery of the face shield aperture 103 so as to form a sterile barrier between an interior volume of the hood and an exterior surface of the hood. The additional pieces of hood material are bonded to the first hood material 102 along the outer periphery of the hood air inlet 104 and the hood air outlet 105, and have air flow permeability greater than that of the first hood material 102.
