摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent fluctuation of engine rotation from being promoted to generate a surge in a vehicle, when the fluctuation of engine rotation occurs caused by unsteadiness of a driving system during normal operation of an internal combustion engine at a middle or high load. SOLUTION: Target load factor is calculated based on an accelerator manipulated quantity and an engine speed. An intake adjusting mechanism for adjusting the load factor of the engine 1 so as to achieve the target load factor, is put into operation when a predetermined delay time elapses after the target load factor is calculated. During normal operation of the engine 1 at a middle or high load, the delay time is changed from a normal value, when current engine speed is within a resonant range where engine speed is periodically fluctuated caused by the vehicular driving system, and the periodical fluctuation of the actual load factor of the engine 1 based on the fluctuation of the engine speed resonates with the engine speed fluctuation.
