PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brake device for a hoisting machine, enabling to easily discriminate a replacing timing for a shoe and to discriminate that the braking surface has end tooth bearing, when removed.SOLUTION: The brake device 1 pushes the shoe 3 against an cylindrical face (outer face) 2a of a drum (rotor) 2 assembled on the output shaft of the elevator hoising machine to generate braking force with friction force between the cylindrical face 2a and the braking surface 3a of the shoe 3. The shoe 3 includes a first lining 31, a second lining 32, a base 33, and a holder 34. The first lining 31 and the second lining 32 are laminated. The second lining 32 has an independent coloring material 320 distributed inside. When the first lining 31 is worn and the second lining 32 is exposed to the braking surface 3a, the coloring material 320 is deposited on the cylindrical face 2a of the drum 2. |
