A portable lighting device is disclosed. The portable lighting device comprises: a main power circuit (400), a power control circuit (700), and a microprocessor. The main power circuit (400) includes a power source (60), a light source (59), and an electronic power switch (702) to regulate current flow through the main power circuit (400) in response to a voltage. The power control circuit (700) is electrically coupled to the electronic power switch (702) to provide the voltage in response to a control signal. The microprocessor includes an output coupled to the power control circuit (700), where the microprocessor provides the control signal to the power control circuit (700), and the control signal is cycled with a sufficient duration to provide a visible flashing function through the light source (59) of the portable lighting device. |
