A liquid crystal display device is provided to improve life span of a liquid crystal display device and maximize the energy efficiency by installing a light emitting diode assembly capable of realizing low heat generation and low power consumption, and reduce hot spots generated around light sources by separating optical sheets from light emitting diode light sources at a certain distance. A light guide plate(142) is installed under a liquid crystal display panel(100). At least one or more light emitting diodes(147) are formed at a side of the light guide plate and emit light. Optical sheets(143) are placed on the light guide plate for maintaining a predetermined distance with a picture display area(125) of the liquid crystal display panel to prevent light from being concentrated on the liquid crystal display panel placed around light sources of the light emitting diodes. |
