PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air cell with an excellent cycling characteristic by promoting dissolution of a metal oxide generated on a positive electrode.
SOLUTION: By adding an ion electrolyte in a nonaqueous electrolyte, dissolution of an oxide can be promoted while keeping an ionic conductivity of the nonaqueous electrolyte. As a result, charging is possible while restraining increase of a solution resistance. That is to say, by adding ionic liquid to an air cell using the nonaqueous electrolyte, charging accompanied with dissolution of the oxide can be effectively performed. The air cell has a positive electrode using oxygen as an active substrate; a negative electrode capable of occluding or discharging metallic ions (M ions; M is selected from a group of Li, Na, K, Ca, Mg, Zn, Fe and Al); and a nonaqueous electrolyte containing ionic liquid and provided between the positive and negative electrodes. The nonaqueous electrolyte contains the ionic liquid, and therefore, an oxide generated by discharging can be effectively dissolved, to improve a cycling characteristic.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
