Provided is a muffler characterized by being equipped with: an outer shell; an outlet pipe, which is formed in the shape of a tube having a pair of open end parts, and has an inflow port, with one of the pair of open end parts and the inflow port being arranged within the outer shell; a valve body formed in the shape of a plate that covers the inflow port from within the outlet pipe; a shaft member that pivotally supports the valve body in the outlet pipe such that the valve body rotates in the interior of the outlet pipe; and a biasing member that applies biasing force to the valve body along the diameter direction of the outlet pipe so as to close off the inflow port. |
