Provided are a spectrum bandwidth allocation method and device. For a new service that is to be added, the method and device need to judge whether the path of the new service is the same as the paths of existing services; if the same, the method comprises determining spectrum bandwidths occupied by the channels of the services with the same path in the existing services and selecting an idle spectrum bandwidth adjacent to the spectrum bandwidths which meet the requirements of adding the new service; and then allocating the spectrum bandwidth to the new service at the position adjacent to the spectrum bandwidths, the guard band between the channels of two services with the same path being narrower than that between the channels of two services with different paths. The technical solution in the embodiments of the present invention enables the spectrum bandwidths occupied by the channels of the services with the same path to be connected in series through a smaller spectrum bandwidth used as a guard band, thereby improving the utilization rate of a spectrum bandwidth in an optical communication network significantly. |
